On the morning of November 12, 2022, at the invitation of the School of Textile and Apparel of our University, Professor Sun Baozhong from the School of Textile and Apparel of Donghua University delivered an academic report entitled "Textile Structural Composites" online. The first-year undergraduates and some young teachers of textile Engineering Department listened to Professor Sun's wonderful report carefully.
Professor Sun Baozhong is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Textile Materials and Textile Design and Textile Composites of Donghua University, as well as a famous teacher of Ministry of Education. He is currently the deputy director of the Textile Science Innovation Center of Donghua University, the deputy director of the Research Institute of Lightweight Structure Composites, the director of the Key Laboratory of Textile Composites and Structures of Textile Industry, and the head of the Textile Composites Discipline of Textile College. For a long time, he has been committed to the basic theory, key technology and application research in the field of textile materials and textile design and textile composite materials, and has made a series of original achievements.
The content of this lecture is simple and wonderful. Professor Sun firstly introduced the application of composite materials in aircraft, automobile and other fields by comparing a large number of examples and data. Then Professor Sun explained the application of textile composite materials, prefabrication system, composite technology, textile composite materials design and mechanics in detail. Finally, Professor Sun introduced the development trend of composite materials, and pointed out that the research focus of composite materials is on the inspection, evaluation and repair of composite materials, advanced low-cost molding technology and high performance and low-cost raw materials. At the end of the lecture, people asked questions that they were interested in, and Professor Sun gave detailed answers.
Through this lecture, the students had a deeper understanding of textile composite materials and a new understanding of the application of textile in a wider range of fields, which greatly stimulated the interest and love of textile students in their own major.
