The scientific research work of the School of Textile and Clothing relies on the Collaborative Innovation Center of Clothing Intelligence, Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Clean Production of Textile Chemistry, Laboratory of Clothing Materials, Laboratory of Clothing Radiation Resistance, Laboratory of Constant Temperature and Humidity, Laboratory of Clothing Materials and Ergonomics, and Comprehensive Laboratory of Digital Clothing and Manufacturing, etc. It is based on the key fields and cutting-edge technologies involved in the National Medium and Long-Term Plan for the Scientific and Technological Development. Focusing on the key areas and frontier technologies involved in the "Outline of the National Medium- and Long-term Science and Technology Development Plan", and closely combining with the national and industrial "13th Five-Year Plan" construction plan for the textile technology progress and industrial upgrading of the major needs, the research focuses on the following: advanced textile processing technology, textile product design and development, industrial fiber products and their applications, the textile surface modification of the material and the functional finishing, eco-textiles dyeing and finishing Processing Theory and Technology, Development and Application of New Textile Functional Auxiliaries, Digital Clothing Design and Manufacturing, Clothing Design and Craftsmanship, Clothing Comfort and Functionality, Clothing Market and Marketing, Clothing Supply Chain Management and E-commerce, and Clothing Industry Economy Research, etc., so as to effectively expand the resources of environment-friendly fibers, enhance the level of processing technology, and promote the structural adjustment of textile products and the upgrading of industrial technology.
Since 2019, the School of Textiles and Clothing has obtained 10 national projects and 11 provincial and ministerial projects, including 2 National Natural Science Foundation of China oriented projects, 7 National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Science Foundation projects, 1 National Social Science Foundation of China Youth Project of Art, and has been approved as a provincial and ministerial platform for Shanghai Textile Chemical Cleaner Production Engineering Technology Research Center, with an accumulated total of 7,157,000 yuan in vertical funding. The total amount of horizontal funding is 12.82 million yuan. Understanding the connotation and significance of technology transfer in depth and carrying out technology transfer work better, we have realized 4 technology transfer projects with total horizontal transfer funds of 144,000 yuan. A total of 112 patents were authorized, including 41 invention patents, 56 utility model patents and 15 designs. The total number of papers published is 937, including 187 high-level SCI papers.
