To help 2023 graduate students quickly understand the college and major, and integrate into the new academic atmosphere, the Textile and Clothing College held a professional education for 2023 graduate students on the afternoon of September 22. Xin Binjie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the Textile and Clothing College, Hu Yue, Member of the Party Committee and Director of the School's General Education Center, Xie Zhixia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Qu Hongjian, and Xu Lihui, Vice Dean, all supervisors, graduate counselors, and all 2023 level graduate students of the Textile and Clothing College attended this meeting. The meeting was chaired by Xie Zhixia, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
At the meeting, Xin Binjie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the college, first expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of the new students and put forward three expectations for the graduate students: first, I hope that students are goal oriented, pay attention to daily accumulation, start from small achievements within their capabilities, and do a good job in process management; Secondly, be confident in yourself and have a clear understanding of your bottom line, which affects your future development; Finally, I hope that students will pay special attention to experimental safety and ensure physical and mental health. Dean Xin stated that the college will concentrate human and material resources to promote the growth and development of students.
The Vice Dean of the college, Xu Lihui, introduced the degree requirements, curriculum, academic support, research opportunities, mentor system, career development support, academic calendar, and academic honors involved in the training plan, providing comprehensive academic training information for new students.
Graduate Secretary Chang Wenjing gave a detailed introduction to the main research fields, curriculum, academic requirements, and research directions of each discipline, and listed the mentors of each discipline, introducing their research fields, achievements, and guidance styles. Research Secretary Yang Qun introduced the project theme and research objectives required for project application, application materials, qualification requirements, application deadline and process, evaluation standards, budget regulations, strategic considerations for application, and available resources. This section provides valuable information for freshmen to better plan their academic paths. Graduate Secretary Lu Zan provided a detailed introduction to the structure, text format, citation and reference materials, academic norms and ethics, charts and tables, reference management tools, submission and deadline dates, and specific requirements of the college and school when writing the paper, providing important guidance for new students in academic writing. Laboratory director Tian Bingqiang provided a detailed introduction to the laboratory's rules and regulations, safety equipment and protective measures, waste disposal, emergency response, chemical and experimental operations, equipment use and maintenance, as well as laboratory visitors and training, to ensure that new students can conduct experimental research safely and effectively.
